It’s no secret the demands and pressures on public schools have changed considerably in recent decades.
The Restless Minds discussion group will explore these changes in education when the group meets at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the Sewing Room of Oakwood’s Arts & Crafts Center.
Discussion leaders Dar and John Brasch, both with backgrounds as educators, will help the group consider a wide range of issues, from teacher pay and school funding levels to the challenges of meeting individual student needs amid the pressure of large classes.
Discussion participants will also explore how public education has changed since they were students. The role of parents also will be explored, from helicopter parents to the lack of parental support.
All people with open, inquisitive minds are invited to attend Restless Minds discussions. There are no dues or advance signups; just show up and participate.
