Now that our club season has ended, bocce ball can still be enjoyed during the summer months. It remains a great way to obtain some needed exercise with friends and when family members come to visit. The CWPV Association bocce balls have been moved to a more convenient location nearer the courts (at court 4) for ease of obtaining and returning the balls when your games have been completed.
Sun Lakes Bocce Club members have been questioned by several families playing bocce during family visits, where members were asked, “How to Play” questions. Anyone can access the club’s website, www.sunlakesbocceclub.com, and refer to the section on “Rules of the Game” to become familiar with the rules prior to heading to the courts. You can also print a copy and bring it along with you to refer to as you play the game.
The American Psychological Association contends that there is a strong link between exercise and mood. Couple that with the benefits of being outside and the positive impact of social activities, and it’s no surprise that you’ll leave the bocce courts with a smile on your face.
Any Sun Lakes resident interested in participating in bocce ball for the 2023-24 season can learn more about the club by going to our club’s website. www.sunlakesbocceclub.com.
As always, all new players to the game, or those who require it, can request instruction by our Training Committee by forwarding an email to the attention of the membership director at [email protected].
