Fall Softball Season short hops

The Fall Softball Season is underway. At press time, we were one-third of the way through our 18-games-per-team schedule. We have two divisions with four teams in each of the Sun and Lakes Divisions.

In the Sun Division, the Brenden Financial Planning team and Jim Leckner’s Real Estate Agency squad were tied for first place with 4-2 records. Mike Lebet was the early batting leader with a robust .944 average, going 21 for 23. Other top hitters were Bob Wicks (.913), Dave Waibel (.824), Dave Platt (.786), and Jerry Hester, Steve Hilby, Mike Otman, and Chuck Schaan (all at .760).

In the Lakes Division, Wolfe & Associates and Young Realty teams were also tied at 4-2. Tom Lorgan was the early batting leader with a robust .906 average. He was followed by Vern Rogers (.880), Doug Warwick (.846), Dennis LePore (.833), and Jesse Washington (.778).

The Fall Season continues through Dec. 20. After a holiday break, the Winter Season will kick off on Jan. 2. All games are played at the Field of Dreams, located near the corner of Riggs and Price Roads. League games are played on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings with recreational programs on Mondays and Saturdays. Come by the field and cheer on the “Boys of Autumn”!

The following four long-term supporters of Sun Lakes Senior Softball recently renewed their advertising banners at the Field of Dreams:
