The Perfect Place of Oakwood Creative Care will be hosting a discussion series on how to regain hope and build resilience when dealing with the complexities of ongoing loss associated with caring for someone with dementia. The 10-week series is based on the book Loving Someone Who Has Dementia: How to Find Hope While Coping with Stress and Grief, by Pauline Boss, a leading expert on caregiver grief. You will learn skills to help you stay strong, healthy, resilient, and positive as you navigate your caregiving journey with healing and hope.
It will be offered in two five-week parts from Jan. 12, 2023, to March 16, 2023. Each session is 90 minutes, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The series will be held at The Perfect Place of Oakwood Creative Care, behind Risen Savior Lutheran Church at 23914 S. Alma School Road, in Sun Lakes.
