Fourteen Cheers members traveled on a Viking River Cruise from Budapest, Hungary, to Bucharest, Romania, in April. The trip was enjoyable and relaxing and exposed them to cultures and areas of Europe that are generally less traveled by Americans. Along the way, there were stops at Kalocsa, Hungary; Osijek, Croatia; Belgrade, Serbia; and Vidin and Russe, Bulgaria. They enjoyed a tour of each area and traveled through the Iron Gates of the Danube. Some of the highlights of the trip were spending time with a Croatian family in their home, seeing an exhibit of Hungarian horsemanship and tours of Budapest and Bucharest.

There are several exciting trips coming up early next year. A trip to the Panama Canal in January is attracting a great deal of interest with club members. If interested, it is important to see Richard to sign up, as this trip is filling up quickly. You will love traveling with a group from Cheers. They have a lot of fun.

The Discussion group is growing and would love to have you come join them. It’s interesting, informative and fun. As of June 1, the group will be meeting on Mondays at 2:30 p.m. at Stone & Barrel on the back patio.

If you are a single out there living in Sun Lakes, SunBird or Springfield, you are welcome to join us for Happy Hour at Poolside Cafe in Oakwood on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. We would love to have you as a member. If you want more information, call Ginny Marr at 883-0600 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630.
