Looking for a great way to meet people, have fun and make great memories all at the same time? The Fun Lakers Club is where it all happens. The number of new members joining is fantastic!
Our March event – All I can say is wow! MAFIOSO MURDERS was an interactive murder mystery dinner theater and a night to remember! We gathered at the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood on Saturday, March 21. Once again the Cottonwood chefs put out a fabulous Italian-style dinner. Because this was an interactive event, volunteer members of the audience played certain parts as assigned by the professional actors from Murder Ink Productions. To make it even more special, some of the attendees wore period costumes capturing the magic, mystery and excitement of Prohibition-era Chicago. Great job and thanks to Mike Konyu and Judy Dakin for chairing this fabulous event.
What’s next? Our ever popular event – the Progressive Dinner. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18. Members will open their homes to old and new friends for a chance to get to know one another over an intimate, semi-catered dinner. This year our caterer is RigaTony’s who are an authentic Italian restaurant reminiscent of New York’s Little Italy. We will gather at the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood Country Club to enjoy a cash bar and delicious appetizers. From there we will move onto the host homes for dinner. The dinner includes antipasto salad; baked manicotti; Italian sausage; chicken picatta; fettuccine Alfredo; ciabatta bread. That sounds absolutely fantastic! Wine will be served with the dinner. After dinner, we will mosey back to the Saguaro Room to enjoy assorted pastries and other fine delicacies along with the cash bar. Registration deadline is April 8. This is a members only event but you’re welcome to sign up for club membership beforehand. Member price is $25 per person. Go to our website at funlakers.org for a registration form.
For the rest of year, here’s the line-up of events:
May – Mexican Train
June – Pool Party.
Our new year begins on July 1. We are looking for club members to volunteer for Board positions and committee chairs. Contact President Earl Holt if interested at 480-895-3587.
We are all about having fun. Not a member and want to join this fun club? Visit the club’s website at www.funlakers.org for the membership form or call Membership Chair Judy Fink at 480-883-9402. We always welcome friendly new faces!
