The Fun Lakers Club just had two events: Comedy Night and Progressive Dinner. Both events went great, and everyone had a good time. Tab Ours, webmaster, was the winner of the Fun Lakers Appreciation Award at the Comedy Night. To get more information on the Fun Lakers, go to our website funlakers.org.

The next event will be the Holiday Dinner/Dance on Dec. 11, at the Cottonwood ballroom. The doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. and dancing to Thaddeus Rose Band starting at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are on sale at funlakers.org.

Our Woodstock/Lip Sync Contest event is going to be on Jan. 15, 2022. We are looking for artists who want to perform in the Lip Sync. This will be similar to our Woodstock event of the past. You will pick two songs from the 1960-1970 era artists. Our disc jockey Jamal Johnson will play two of your chosen songs on his sound system, over the top of you. You just have to dress and imitate your chosen artist’s movements and look like you are singing the songs. Each performer will do just two songs, 10 minutes at the most. There will be cash prizes for the five top performers. Groups will start performing on stage at 4:30 p.m. in the Cottonwood ballroom. Go to funlakers.org and print the registration form.

Euchre Club meets year-round on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. To join, call Joe and Gloria Tucker at 812-584-2542. We also have Mexican Train every Monday evening at 6 p.m. in the Cottonwood Game Room. We will soon be adding Poker Night to our list of things to do.

Don’t forget that if you are joining the Fun Lakers Club and you are single, sign up for the Solo Club or let us know if you are a member and want to be added to the Solo list. Also, note that there is a Solo table at all events.

Sun Lakes Dance Parties started on Oct. 21 and will end in April. The price is $15 at the door. Doors will open at the San Tan Ballroom in Cottonwood at 5:30 p.m. There will be free dance lessons at 6:30 p.m., with open dance from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Come for dinner (no-host bar, full food menu available). All are welcome. You do not have to be a Fun Lakers member to purchase a season pass or attend dances. A note for everyone is that all the paperwork says the doors open at 6 p.m., but they really open at 5:30 p.m.!
