Well, summer has arrived! Beautiful days and lots of heat await us. For the Fun Lakers Club (FLC), that means planning activities which we can all enjoy while waiting for cooler days ahead.
On July 16, FLC will be hosting a Trivia Night with a Mexican buffet/fajita bar in the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood Country Club. The cost per person is $24 for members and $29 for non-members. The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m., followed by the buffet at 6:00 p.m. Trivia begins following dinner. Teams may be from one to eight members. Remember though, the more players on your team the more knowledge you share. There will be a cash prize for the winning team, so try to get a larger group together and have fun. Reservation deadline is July 8.
Saturday, August 20, is the FLC dinner and theater event. A “pay-as-you-go” dinner at 5:30 p.m. will be at the Liberty Market in Gilbert. The performance of West Side Story will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Hale Center Theater, just across the street from the restaurant. You may want to join everyone for dinner first or, if you prefer, meet us at the theater for the show. Theater tickets are $22 per person. Reservation deadline is August 5.

Fun Lakers Club is also looking into a trip to Paris next year for interested members. Our president and secretary, Bill and Joan Bachand, are working with a travel agent in order to get specific details for the trip. Check out this month’s newsletter for more information from Bill. If you’ve never been there or have always wanted to go, this might just be the right time.
