It’s time to renew your membership in the Fun Lakers Club. It’s just $15 per year and runs from January through December. Membership covers card and game groups like Euchre, Mexican Train, and Texas Hold’em Poker, as well as Bocce Ball and the Solo group. It also allows participation in other special events like the Holiday Dinner Dance, Progressive Dinner, Golf Cart Rally, and more. Go to our website, www.funlakers.org, for more information and join today!
Coming up on Jan. 21 is the interactive Murder Mystery special event presented by the Murder Mystery Company, a nationwide theatrical production company featuring professional actors in ‘80s costumes. Join in the fun and wear your finest ‘80s outfits, too: neon colors, leg warmers, leather jackets, big hair, and flashy necklaces. Use your best detective skills to identify the criminal and solve this crime in style. You can bribe the characters if you like. But beware! You may be accused of the deadly deed.
It’s open to the public, so bring your friends. Tickets are online at www.funlakers.org. Tickets will be available at the door if not sold out. The San Tan Ballroom is at the Cottonwood Country Club, at 25630 S. Brentwood Drive, in Sun Lakes.
Come early and grab a drink at the cash bar and a bite of dinner from the limited menu. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the Murder show is at 7 p.m.
Dance Parties: If you love Thaddeus Rose and costume events, you will want to attend the next two dance parties, which are open to the public.
The Thursday, Jan. 19, Dance Party will feature a Western theme, so get out your boots and get ready to two-step.
The Thursday, Feb. 23, Dance Party is Mardi Gras, of course, so be creative. Pretty much anything goes. Masks and beads are always fun!
The cash bar and limited menu will be available, as always, so come early. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and music plays from 7 until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 per person per dance at www.funlakers.org and at the door.
