The Fun Lakers hope you and your families enjoyed very happy holidays and are ready to start 2016 off with more fun and exciting activities. Our December Holiday Dinner Dance featuring the JD Powers Band was enjoyed by all. We thank the planning and decorations committees for making this event so lovely and festive.
It’s membership renewal and annual meeting time. On January 16 at 6:30 p.m., we will have our annual meeting and all Fun Lakers are invited to join in at Oakwood’s Poolside Café for free pizza, salads and games. We invite your input for activity ideas and ask that you help plan an event if you have time. Since we are all about making new friendships, getting involved is a great way to meet new people. If you are not yet a member of our awesome club, you may join at the door or mail in your membership dues early to The Fun Lakers Club, c/o Leo Klebanow, 25456 S. Glenburn, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Membership dues are still only $12 per person per year. If you are a renewing member, we would appreciate it if you would mail in your renewal, though if you forget, we will take your check at the door. Membership forms are available on our website at www.funlakers.org. Speaking of our website, our newsletter, event flyers, and pictures of previous events are also posted. So, take a look, see all the fun we have, and plan to join in.
Even during the holidays our events committee has been busy making plans. On February 29, beware of “Horror at Homecoming.” The Poolside Café will be transformed into Mayhem High School as we engage in an evening of mystery, dance and deception. The club will supply ribs for dinner and we ask the attendees to bring a side or dessert for dinner. DJ Jamaal will provide the dance music that you can swing to on our imported wood dance floor. Other events in 2016 include a hay ride at Ponderosa Stables on March 26 and our very popular annual progressive dinner on April 16.
