Becky Donatelli
Gila Butte chapter, NSDAR has been busy participating in Chandler’s America 250 Celebrations.
Regent Jean Milberger and vice regent Becky Donatelli, joined the Palo Verde SAR at the Liberty Tavern, pop-up tent, to mingle and educate the celebrants on the history of becoming the United States of America. We gave out flags and flag pins while engaging those stopping by to join either Daughters of the American Revolution or Sons of the American Revolution.
This was a two day event and drawing attention to our 250th birthday was enjoyed by both those in costume and many Chandler residents.
Gila Butte Chapter also toured the Liberty Wildlife Preserve. Thanks to our conservation committee, we took part in a tour of the facility and learned how they care for so many birds, reptiles, and other wildlife. The goal of Liberty Wildlife is to treat, rehabilitate and release back into the wild. Those that are unable to be released are cared for by the multitude of volunteer staff and become part of the educational aspect of the Society. Gila Butte chapter daughter Lorene Nelson is one such volunteer. After the tour there was a beautiful exhibit of the birds in flight.
We encourage any woman, age 18 and older to join us in recognizing and serving those of our communities. Daughters of the American Revolution is a wide and diverse organization of women. Promoting the three tenets of historical preservation, education and patriotism. If you are interested in the genealogy of your family and serving your community, please reach out. We can help you find your direct lineage to a revolutionary soldier.
Come be a part of America’s 250th birthday, by joining an organization that truly supports God, home and country.
