‘Tis February now, and we’ve survived our first rain shower. In fact, we have enjoyed that rain shower.
Let’s focus on enjoyment. As we strive to stay healthy and lose weight or maintain the loss we have achieved, let’s enjoy life.
Do you like to dance? Look through the Splash to find a class that fits your needs, or check out the line dancing classes at other communities or at Optum.
How about yoga? We have some excellent classes in our own backyard. Or get a good DVD and practice at home. It’s hard to be in the dumps when you’re doing yoga.
We can all walk, but if we do, let’s strive to make it fun. Walk with a friend, like Carol and Jeanne do. Or listen to an audio book or your favorite music. I listen to a favorite playlist when I walk. I like the oldies with a good beat that put a smile on my face.
While you have that smile on your face, wave to everyone you pass as you walk. Trust me, most will wave back. Sun Lakes is famous for that.
Find foods that make you smile. I just discovered orzo. I’m not a fan of most pasta, but orzo is small, cooks up nicely and mixes well with lots of other foods.
Friends make me smile. Get together with friends and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Take in a movie too. I don’t get out with friends enough, so I vow to do a better job this month.
