Goalies celebrated another season of weight-loss and good health. Mazel tov.
At the Fall Luncheon, Sharon Flores won the “biggest loser” award, meaning she lost the most weight in the last six months.
It was a big day for Sharon, yet again. The whole Goalies group expressed their appreciation to Sharon—and to Jeanne Schwan as well—for their many years of outstanding leadership. Sharon has been captain for over 10 years, and Jeanne has been the Goalie secretary for over 20 years. Both are retiring from their leadership roles, but we will see them each week as Goalies.
Our new leadership will now include returning officers Rita Raymond, Irene Lafko, Dimple Jones, Carol White, Jeanne Becker, and Jan Bobbett. And stepping into the positions of top leadership will be Janice Cournoyer, captain, and Jennifer Caminidi, secretary. We’ll be in good hands.
Special thanks to Janice C., Jeanne Becker, and Carol White for organizing the special event and helping us all to show our appreciation to Sharon and Jeanne S. for their years of leadership.
Also attending the event were special guests, including former members who no longer live in our community but will always be Goalies.
Come join us for good company, support, laughs, and shared wisdom. Weigh-in is Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. in Room A-8, near the Cottonwood Library. The meeting starts after weigh-in. Contact Rita at 480-223-8340 for more information.
As I write this, we have already weighed in for our holiday contest. (Step 1) Right before Thanksgiving we record our weight, and (Step 2) the Saturday after New Year’s Day, we weigh in to compare the two numbers. Our goal?—to gain zero weight during the tempting holidays. Join us if you dare.
