The Ed Robson Library is pleased to offer the following program on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m.:
Ikebana Program
Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement, is subtle, sensitive, sophisticated and meditative, with roots in Japanese Zen Buddhism. The growing appreciation for Japanese art and architecture in the West has extended to this Japanese way of flowers. Ikebana emphasizes lines and space, celebrates simplicity, and is steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature. In this program, Mr. Ping Wei, a member of Sogetsu Ikebana Teacher Association, will discuss the art of Ikebana and demonstrate how it is created.
On the day of the program, please come by the library front desk to pick up a free ticket. There is a limit of two tickets per person. Seating is limited. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
