Congratulations to our 2025 Club Champion Sandy Brandt! Her total score for the three-round tournament was 227. First-place flight winners are as follows: Janet Barnett in Flight 1, Susan Barham in Flight 2, Lynne Shaw in Flight 3, Colleen Ritter in Flight 4, and Robin Thomas in Flight 5. Roselyn Hoiby is our very first Super Senior Club Champion with a total score of 243. This new honor goes to the participating member who is at least 80 years old at the start of play.

Dari Akin is our Most Improved Golfer for 2024. She started the year with an index of 20.6 and ended with an index of 17.4.

Our annual Swing for Hope fundraiser kicked off in March with our Charity Raffle and a Donation Station for individual contributions. All proceeds go to the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UAF/UACC) for research on a cure for all types of cancer. With the help of our community, ILGA has raised over $191,000 since 1997. We are building a Tribute Garden full of colorful pinwheels to memorialize those who have fought cancer and whom donors want to honor. Each pinwheel will include the names of those honorees. The pinwheels will be placed in the flower bed just past the firepits at Ironwood. Activities conclude on Thursday, April 3, with a luncheon where Swing for Hope proceeds will be presented to a representative of the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

The PICO tournament starts Thursday, April 10, and ends on Thursday, April 17. The two-day event takes place at both Ironwood and Cottonwood and concludes with a taco bar awards luncheon at Ironwood. Club members from Palo Verde, Ironwood, Cottonwood, and Oakwood are invited to participate.
