We are pleased and proud to announce that Rene Lamy has graciously accepted an appointment to the Breakers Board of Directors as secretary.

Rene is a Massachusetts native and Arizona resident for 43 years. He and his wife Aline moved to Sun Lakes Oakwood in 2004. Rene joined the Breakers Pool League over two years ago and during that time, has developed into a competitive pool player. Rene is someone who is always willing to help our league and really a nice guy.

Rene comments, “I love the comradery and the new friends I’ve acquired since joining the Breakers league.” Welcome aboard, Rene!

Ed Allen, former board member and league tournament director, recently retired from the board of directors. Board member Randy Bryan has assumed Ed’s role as tournament director. All our members really thank Ed for his many years of service to the Breakers League and for leaving us his legacy exclamation, “That’s an Eddie Allen shot” (when a player has no good shot but decides to slam the cue ball into rest of the balls). Although Ed retired from the board, Ed did not retire from pool. He continues to play occasionally and is still quite a good shot maker. We wish him well.

Our “Scotch Doubles” 8-Ball Tournament is winding down and will conclude July 19. Tournament results will be reported in the September Splash.
