On November 17 at 4:00 a.m., while most people were still tucked cozily in their beds, Sue Moore, a member of the IronOaks Fitness Center, sought to break the Indoor El Tour De Tucson cycling record. Moore is no stranger to the 33rd annual cycling event as she participated in 1984. The 13-hour record for the indoor event was set in 2014 by a senior in high school. Sue knew she had to ride for at least 13 hours to attempt to break the existing record. After 15 hours, at 7:00 pm, Sue concluded her ride. Her effort was incredible! The next day she found out that she was not the new record holder as a Tucson resident edged her out for the new record.
Regardless, Sue is upbeat and loves to be challenged. She fits right in at the IronOaks Fitness Center, where we have many dedicated members. Members enjoyed seeing Sue working hard and many stopped by to offer words of encouragement.
Sue – congratulations on your amazing achievement!
