Thankfully, the weather has started to be more like the sunny, beautiful, and warm weather we know and love but have been missing for a while. It couldn’t come at a better time than with the newly renovated and expanded indoor and outdoor spaces at Grill on the Green. Their new menu offerings and daily “specials of the day” are definitely worth looking into after golf for lunch, dinner, or just to hear the band. The beautiful outdoor patio area, complete with firepits, is a welcome addition.
Our league play tee time changed on March 1 to 9 a.m. every Wednesday. We now check in at 8:30 a.m. and meet for our circle meeting at 8:45 a.m. for announcements, rules of the game, and “rule of the week.” We also have a new staff member in the IronOaks Pro Shops whose quest is to improve the selections and available sizing of the golf apparel, so don’t forget to check out the outfits every so often.
In February we had another one of our Valentine golf and luncheon events. It was well attended by 80 participants who enjoyed golf, a great luncheon, and door prize draws. A big thanks goes out to Deb Burns, Shirley Moore, and Fran Kelly who did a great job organizing and leading this event. Our next event will be the April 12 general meeting/Awards Banquet, and the theme is “Aloha.” We will play golf first, followed by the banquet and awards presentation. Dress and cart decoration appropriate to the theme is wholeheartedly encouraged. April 5 is the deadline to register for this event.
Have you ever noticed how much golf balls are like eggs? They’re mostly white, they’re sold by the dozen, and a week later you have to buy more.
