Italian-American Club Update

Steve Ambroso, President, Sun Lakes Italian-American Club

Ciao and benvenuti, a tutti!

It’s time for all Sun Lakes Italian-American Club members and guests to get together on Monday, Feb. 6, at the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood for our next dinner/meeting. New members are still welcome. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration and cash bar. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The cost of the spaghetti and meatball dinner will be $23 and consists of caprese salad and garlic bread, asparagus, and apple crisp. If you need a vegetarian or gluten-free meal, please let us know when you RSVP.

The theme during the February meeting will be “Venezia Carnevale.” Marco Buscaglia and Gino LaRiviere will discuss the history and traditions of Carnevale, and a contest will be held for best mask. Bring your mask and beads!

Upcoming topics:

March: Italian potluck lunch and mini-bocce ball tournament at Sisk Park

April: Speaker from Queen Creek Olive Mill

May: Speaker from Phoenix Italian Consulate discussing dual citizenship

If you are a member or on our mailing list, you will receive the monthly newsletter with all RSVP info. RSVP is required.

We had a great January meeting with 90 members/guests in attendance. Dan Canepa from Boccafina Italian Seasonings & Sauces was the speaker. Don’t get left out—get your RSVP in early. And remember, Italians have more fun!
