The Arizona Classic Jazz Society is pleased to announce that their new traditional jazz season opens with a program presented by the Sun City Stomperz on Sunday, September 16, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, Chandler. ACJS presents wonderful live music every month from September to May. Dance floors are always provided. Cost is $15 for ACJS members; $20 non-members (become a new member on the 16th and get in free; yearly membership $35 couple, single $25).

The Sun City Stomperz was founded in 2005 to spread the joy of Dixieland jazz to residents in and around Sun City. They do occasionally spread their wings as far as Chandler. The band centers their repertoire on the music of the first three decades of the 20th Century which includes the beginnings of the traditional jazz age, the rise and fall of the Storyville District in New Orleans and the first jazz recordings.

The Arizona Classic Jazz Festival is only a short two months away, starting on November 1 and ending on November 4. You can find all the details by going to www.azclassicjazz.org or calling 480-620-3941.

ACJS has just received an $8,000 Community Investment Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts. The funds from this grant help ACJS present amazing arts experiences through music to the residents of Arizona at monthly events and a highly renowned Festival every November.
