Jim Libby Is Now a Bridge Life Master!

Jim Libby

Jim Libby learned bridge from his parents who played in a non-sanctioned duplicate bridge game for over 30 years. At home, Jim and his family played lots of cards. Jim asks, “Does anyone remember canasta?”

After retiring, Jim moved to Sun Lakes and became a member of Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge Club (SLDBC). He took lessons at the club from exceptional teachers Dave, Gordon, and Allen. He was mentored by Max and Richard C.

On his journey to receive his Life Master, Jim played in national tournaments in Phoenix and Louisville, Ky., ultimately receiving his last gold points at the Phoenix regional at Talking Stick in August of this year. His partner was Craig Holstad who he continues to partner with at SLDBC. This was 56 years after he started playing duplicate, but with a 35-year gap.

Jim is excited to continue playing bridge and hopes to move on to the next level of Bronze Life Master.

Congratulations, Jim!
