What Is Kinetic Karate?
The kinetic chain is the interrelation of the nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems. Our nerves, muscles, and joints work together to create human movement.
Karate training teaches movements that require an increased awareness of one’s body and improvement in balance, reflexes, focus, and strength.
Kinetic Karate generates movement that creates energy in our muscles and joints. The objective of a dynamic, energetic, and safe karate program is to increase flexibility, mobility, balance, coordination, strength, and power, with the added benefit of cognitive improvement.
Where Do We Begin?
Each class begins with basic warm-up stretches and balance exercises before moving into learning basic karate techniques. Balance is something we all take for granted. The good news is that we can limit and even reverse the loss of balance through training and balance exercises.

Testimonials from Kinetic Karate participants:
“Kinetic Karate is an absolute blast—filled with laughter, fun, and a workout that engages every muscle while keeping you moving and smiling!” —Deena B.
“Kinetic Karate is a great blend of needed balancing exercises and basic self-defense techniques.” —Paul L.
“I stand at my sink and start balancing on one foot. I brush my teeth and lift my heels and perform toe raises. I am moving. I am reacting. I am improving my everyday reflexes and movements by applying movements I practice in Kinetic Karate. I’m learning to help sync my brain and body’s movements. Practically applied, I wouldn’t recommend sneaking up on me anytime soon, or you may feel a reflexive elbow (kidding … not). I have undergone two hip replacements, two knee replacements (plus one revised), and multiple foot surgeries. I am happily learning and practicing Kinetic Karate. I may have to adjust my stances a bit to adapt to my body’s limits, since my balance is still a bit off, but I feel like I am improving, not existing. I feel progress versus maintenance. I feel stronger and physically more confident. I am impressed that our instructor, our “Sensei,” is highly capable and is able to instruct, challenge, and encourage every one of us, no matter our past experience or physical limitations.” —Lisa L.
“What a fun way to improve balance, flexibility, and overall well-being.” —Tom S.
