Chapter Commander Leon “Skip” Johnson
The local Chapter of the Korean War Veterans has made a final decision to cancel all upcoming events for the remainder of the year for the safety of all its members and others whom they may have contact with. Although scheduled monthly activities have been in a holding pattern since the coronavirus was identified earlier in the year, the future in finding a speedy solution to an adequate fix is still an uncertainty, as indicated by the latest information available. Any changes will be provided to its members in a timely manner.
This organization is dedicated to help assist all veterans in need of support and assistance in the best manner possible. Our doors are never closed to those requiring help, as accidents do happen at the most inconvenient times. In many situations, we can help in providing medical equipment that can assist at a time of need. At present, we have at our disposal an assortment of many things in storage that are generally only a phone call away in an emergency. In addition, with anybody experiencing problems getting around, at present, we do have on hand two “Jazzy” four-wheel electric power chairs in inventory, plus a “Go-Go” three-wheel scooter. For those with an interest, please call the number listed below for additional details on any of these three items, or to discuss their availability.
We wish you all the best for a happy holiday season with friends and family. Always take out a moment of your time to thank all of those serving our country who will be away from their families and loved ones during this holiday season. Also show a token of appreciation for all those who have been working night and day keeping our shelves stocked, the streets safe, and the many in the medical field who are putting in many hours in treating those in need, while sacrificing their own safety at becoming vulnerable to exposure to the virus. For any additional information, always feel free to call Leon “Skip” Johnson. He can be reached at 970-481-3005.
