Korean War Veterans

Chapter Commander Leon “Skip” Johnson

The Korean War Veterans would like to extend their thanks to you all who supported this organization throughout the tough times we all experienced during the past year. A special thank you goes out to the organization members who supported the last event of the year, which was a success, in the later part of December. Like many organizations around the country, the Korean War Veterans have been in a “holding pattern” pertaining to participating at their local meetings and at other events that typically are held on a national level. There is a difference between being in a “holding pattern” and being available in times of need. When there is an emergency where we can provide support in any way, we certainly are always still available and only a phone call away. The organization is dedicated to assist all veterans in need of support and assistance in the best manner possible. Our doors are never closed to those who are in need of help. Readily available, we do have an inventory of an assortment of medical equipment, which includes some motorized electric scooters for anyone having some serious ambulatory problems. If interested, contact the Chapter Commander for further details.

Due to the current situation regarding the safety of all, we are still not comfortable enough to resume our normal schedules, which would include monthly meetings, as well as participation at some other major events that are held rather frequently. Hopefully, this is all short-lived, and be assured that the membership will be kept abreast on any new changes as they all fall into place. There still is a group of regulars who meet weekly for lunch as often as possible. For details on this, check it out with your Chapter Commander. If you have any needs or questions regarding any of the above, feel free to give Skip a call. He is the Chapter Commander and can be reached by phone at 970-481-3005, and I’m sure would be happy to talk with you.
