The Cottonwood Lady Niners’ were off to another great year. November 1 was first day of play with fabulous weather supplied by Mother Nature, especially for us. That’s our story…

With only some of the Snow Birds back to join the Stay Birds, we still had 17 new members! The word is out that we are fun. There is still time to join the club for $60 (until December 1) and $350 green fee for Thursday play through the end of May ($375 for Phases 1 and 3). We play almost every Thursday (not Thanksgiving) 1:00 p.m. shotgun, with a short meeting on the Pro Shop patio beforehand. Our Welcome Back Luncheon is November 15. There are several others throughout the season, with our always fun Member Guest tournament scheduled for March 14.

Our first day of play was Low Net: Winners in Flight 1: Lynn Tanner, Dee Monsonis, Sheila Axtman and Nancy Gehlbach; Flight 2: Leanna Michelson, Margie Brandon, Brenda Ledene, Diane French, Barb Sherman and Linda Weber; Flight 3: Iris Hardy, Kathy Bushbaum, Jerry Jordan and Carol Healy. Since we were only playing on the Back Nine until our numbers grow back to use Front and Back, Flight 4 also paid out to winners Lisa Mahoric, Kay Kautzman and Patti Landry. A total of $113.00 of Pro Shop chits were awarded.

There has been a lot of talk about A Pace of Play Policy. During the summer months, those of us who stay here and sweat can, and do, sit down for a cold beverage between holes. But in the busy winter months, please don’t let it be YOU who is holding up the play for everyone!
