Eighteen players turned out as the Sisk Park Bocce Club completed 2018-19 competition with its annual Low-Hanging Fruit Tournament. The event pits players from Divisions F through N.

First place honors went to the team of Cindy Fernandez, Tim Donovan and Mary Mentone. Finishing second was the threesome of Tony Casillas, Dottie Allison and Bob Kennedy. Tying for third place were the teams of Pat Mentone, Ron Puvalowski and Sherry Casillas and Carol Kennedy, Nola Puvalowski and Sharon Callaghen.

Other participants were Sun Donovan, Colleen Linko, Ray Callaghan, Bob Fernandez, Pearl Ryan and Jeff Blankenship.

Special thanks go to Doc Heckler who served as head referee and scorer.

Sue Donovan, tournament director, said the event was a little crazy – folks canceling out at the last minute, lights on court going out and a couple of other snafus. Despite this, all participants had a good time, she said.

The club will take the summer off. Next action will come in November. Players may sign up for the 2019-20 season at the Cottonwood Open House or the club’s annual Potluck Party in October. For additional information, contact Jim Roberts, club president, at 421-681-6583.
