The Oakwood/Palo Verde Home and Home was played on March 24 and 26. There were 23 four man teams with two players from each Association making up a team. The winning team was Doug Braun/Blair Poitras of Oakwood and Gerald Kirby/Jim Berreth of Palo Verde with a net score of 210. Second place team was Billy Walberg/Howard Weiss of Oakwood and David Florence/Ron Crabtree of Palo Verde with a score of 213. All the results can be found at www.mogagolf.org.
The Ironwood Wealth Management Tournament was held at Oakwood Lakes/Palms Course on March 31. There were 22 four man teams. The winning team was Bob Love, Bud Hewitt, Hans Naumann and Ron Gielen. They each won a round of golf at The Arizona Grand course in Phoenix.
Ron Gielen also won the raffle winning a Cobra driver club. The Closest-to-the-Pin winners were Peter Yoon (Lakes sixth hole, won a new golf bag) and Juliano Pelini (Palms seventh hole, gift card). Two teams tied for second place by just one stroke behind the leaders. The awards were presented by Mr. Cean Rogers of Wealth Management at the luncheon at the Oakwood Clubhouse following play. The Oakwood-Cottonwood Home and Home Tournament was played on April 7 at Oakwood and April 9 at Cottonwood. There were 16 four man teams in Group G and 15 four man teams in Group N. Each team had two men from each Association. The first place team in Group G was Tom Courtney, Don Klein, Jim Czaja and Harry Pritchard. First place team in Group N was William Moore, Ken Pearson, Pat Scinto and Rick Stephens. All the results can be found on the webpage.
The MOGA Board of Officers and Committee Chairman want to welcome Mr. Richard Castro as the new Chairman of the Membership Committee.
On May 5 you will have an opportunity to test your golfing skill against our Club Pro, Mr. Eddy Renio.
As a reminder: On the Third Thursday of each month, following morning and afternoon play, drinks are provided by MOGA at the Pro Shop in appreciation for your membership (please be aware of the coming summer impact of the Ironwood renovation project).
