Eddy Renio receives a fond farewell from John Reyhons, Paula Ferguson, and Mark Saylor.
Eddy Renio Moves On
John Reyhons commented that the number of people who showed up for this event is a true testament to what an outstanding individual Eddy is. “I have worked with a lot of golf professionals, and this guy has done so much for the entire community. It’s not the easiest job, but whenever there was a challenge, Eddy handled it gracefully, and whenever there was an opportunity, he did it with great enthusiasm. I look fondly at all the employees whom he’s mentored and trained and all the special smiles he’s brought to all of us. He’s one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. Thank you for your years of service!”
Paula Ferguson commented on how Eddy led the membership drive during the acquisition of the amenities, golf expos, and renovations and always had the homeowners’ interest in mind.
Other people commented: He is a great manager, very outgoing, and open to anything you might have to say. He supported Junior Golf, is very personable, always available, a great asset to IronOaks, a great supporter of MOGA, good guy, going to miss him. Eddy knew my name after my first round of golf and always remembered it.
Eddy reminisced that in 1997 his parents bought a house in Sun Lakes, and it felt like it took an eternity to drive out here in the middle of nowhere. He thought, “Who’s going to move out here?” Then they built Hamilton High School, and he thought, “Who’s young enough to have kids out here?” He said, “This place just blew up, and I’m very blessed to have gotten a job like IronOaks. I appreciate leaders like John and Paula, my team, who’ve worked with me over the years. Members and residents first. We’re all family here. We take care of each other. I tried to treat you like I wanted to be treated. I shared good times, hard times, and sad times with many of you. People who have come and gone have made this community what it is. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it! I want the next team to be successful.”
