MOGA President Doug Braun and Vice President Craig Annis are looking for “a few good men” to participate on the MOGA Board in 2018. Assistance is needed in “Pairings,” Tournament Development and Finance/Budget and other positions. If interested, please contact Doug Braun or Craig Annis.
A new simplified MOGA registration form has been formulated for the new year. During the past two years, the increase in chip payout and the skyrocketing cost of food requires an increase in the fee which has not been changed in three years.
The Golf Expo will be held on November 8 on the driving range at Oakwood, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Major vendors will be there to demonstrate their new products.
The November 9 flighted 3 Club Monte will be cart path only to permit more players to walk the course.
On November 14 and 16, the Ryder Cup between Ironwood and Oakwood will be hosted by Ironwood. The first round, on the 14th, will be at Ironwood and on the 16th at Oakwood. There will be a slight charge to cover the cost of refreshments.
The November 30 Member/Member will be played starting at 10:00 a.m. There is a $20.00 charge per person to defray the cost of prizes and $10.00 gift cards that can be used at the Oakwood Country Club. There will be no meal served after the event. Submit applications after November 15.
As a friendly reminder, exclusive of MOGA play, any time you play 18 holes, you are required to post your score.
USGA has implemented a number of new rules to enhance the “speed of play.” Additionally, carts should “not be on or near a tee” unless the cart is identified as a physically handicapped golfer. Please help us to keep our courses looking good.
You might want to mark your calendar for December 6 and 13 for the Home & Home between Oakwood and Sun Lakes 1. The starting time on the 13th may be 10:00 a.m.
