Neighbors Who Care—Grateful for Sun Lakes Community Support

NWC Community Engagement Manager Jennifer Gustafson and Executive Director Sheryl Keeme greet guests and collect donations at the Redeemed Team’s Concert in the Park.

This winter and spring, community groups in the Sun Lakes area generously held events meant to bring folks together for some fun and to raise money for Neighbors Who Care. With a few years of isolation behind us, as Neighbors Who Care volunteers slowly become more comfortable and begin returning to volunteering, these dollars will continue to help our Sun Lakes-based agency continue to serve the clients already on board as well as assess and welcome an average of 40 new clients each month. We couldn’t do what we do without the community’s support. Lucky for NWC, our community is full of remarkably generous individuals. Thanks to all!

Culver’s Fundraiser: Thanks to Erin Kissling, our Basha High School senior volunteer, Culver’s on Arizona Avenue in Chandler held a fundraising night for Neighbors Who Care. Dr. William Wilhelm, NWC board treasurer, and Sheryl Keeme, executive director, greeted diners and enjoyed dinner during the event. More than $200 was raised. Thanks to all who enjoyed great food and helped Neighbors Who Care.

Redeemed Team: Redeemed Team realtors Suzy Steinman and Michelle Hudak held a Concert in the Park afternoon in March with the spotlight on Neighbors Who Care. It was a great afternoon of music and visiting with friends.

Sun Lakes Tennis Club: Members of the Tennis Club lead by Tennis Club leaders Judy Gahide and Richard Eslick, among others, held a tournament in March after a hiatus of a few years. More than 120 players joined the event on a beautiful day for some great competition. Organized by the Tennis Club committee, the one-day event was a big success, culminating in a lovely lunch for all. The tournament proceeds, a donation of $6,000, was presented to Neighbors Who Care after the event.
