Neighbors Who Care

Neighbors Who Care Celebrates Volunteers and New Passenger Van!

Details are still being assembled, but we want to invite everyone in the Sun Lakes community to join us for a happy occasion!

On Wednesday, April 20, from 10:30 a.m. until noon, Neighbors Who Care will commission our brand-new 2022 Ford Transit Passenger Van with a morning Ribbon Cutting Party with complimentary food trucks and appreciation! The event will be hosted in the parking lot of Risen Savior Lutheran Church’s new Worship Center. The event is completely free; however, we request RSVPs so that we can be sure to have enough food, coffee, and fun for all who attend!

Find the event at Eventbrite.com (search NWC Volunteer Appreciation & Van Ribbon Cutting) or call 480-895-7133, Ext. 170, or email [email protected].

Thanks to these generous contributors, we will soon be transporting our clients to shopping, medical appointments, banking, and errands once again!

The Ironwood Ladies Golf Association (ILGA) invites you to help us drive out cancer and Swing for Hope. Activities began in March and end on Thursday, April 7. All proceeds go to the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UAF/UACC) for research on a cure for all cancer. With the help of our community, ILGA has raised over $155,000 since 1997. March activities start with the opportunity to make donations in the names of family and friends who have been impacted by this disease.

Starting on Thursday, March 10, volunteers will be available before each shotgun start to collect your donation forms or assist you in completing the form.

* Donation forms are available in the Club Room, on the ILGA website, and at the donation collection table.

* Minimum donation is $20.

* Checks should be made payable to UAF/UACC, which is the umbrella organization for raising funds for the University of Arizona Cancer Research Center. Donations can also be made in cash. Donors are encouraged to list a name of a person or persons to be memorialized or honored and also attach a photo, if desired. The name(s) and pictures will be added weekly to the ILGA display boards outside of the Pro Shop.

* The display boards are grouped by donation amount as follows:

White Ribbon: $20 to $99

Platinum Ribbon: $100 or more

Golf Ribbon: $250 or more

On Thursday, March 31, the Dolly Raffle will come to ILGA. We have golf packages and other prizes. Tickets are 6 for $5 or 15 for $10. Bring your cash and choose your potential prizes. The drawing will be April 7 at Ironwood.
