Cheers is a social club with membership of 150 and growing. We are open to singles in Sun Lakes, Springfield, SunBird, and Solera communities. Whether you are a year-round resident or visit us during the winter months, you are invited to become a part of the Cheers family.

We offer many activities and programs, including social time, wine tasting, dining out, book club, games, our newest group—golfing, and more. With your $20 annual dues, you will be given access to members-only activities and the chance to make many new friends. We meet every Thursday at Oakwood Country Club in the Bradford Room, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Please join us.

Cheers Golf Group: Our new cheers golf group is off to a great start. We have 18 members signed up. We golf every Friday at the courses of Sun Lakes, as well as SunBird, Springfield, and Bear Creek, with the potential to golf other nearby courses.

Our first outing occurred April 22 at Sun Lakes Country Club (Phase 1). There were eight of us playing. It was a blustery day, and it played havoc on our shots. We played nine holes, and after our round, we met at Mulligans for some social time and drinks.

Our second outing was April 29 at Ironwood. The weather was much more cooperative, and we had a great day. There were 12 of us who enjoyed nine holes of golf and took in the view of the golf course. Congratulations are due to Fran Kelly who chipped in for a birdie on hole 7 (great job, Fran). After play, we met on the patio of the bar for more social time and drinks.

Our third outing on May 6 occurred at Oakwood, and the weather and course were fantastic. Congratulations to Lou Blas who scored a birdie on hole 7 of the Sonoran course. A great time was had by all with social hour at Stone & Barrel afterwards.
