It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my friend, golfer and fellow league member; Charles “Chuck” Johns. Although Chuck was a new Niner, he enjoyed the game and breakfast with the guys. To Margaret, Chuck’s wife, and to the members of the John’s family we offer our sincerest condolences.

Another Arizona winter is over and summer is just around the corner. Our winter players are packing up and departing for cooler locations across the USA and Canada. We wish them a safe trip and a happy summer. We will be looking forward to your return in the fall. Play well and stay well, guys.

This and that: We are still looking for a few members to volunteer and train to become game managers. Training is easy and our current game managers would help get you started. Let Joe Sigillo or David Mork know of your interest.

The team captain’s tasks should be easy: keep an accurate and readable score card and urge players to keep up with the group ahead. The last should be very easy: ensure that players count all strokes and follow The Rules of Golf, as well as our local rules. It is expected that all league members will report an accurate count of strokes and observe all the rules during league play.

Thanks to all our members who gave up their time to attend meetings and show their support for the Palms Renovation Project. On April 23 the HOA Board voted unanimously to approve the project. Well done guys.
