There is an old saying about August and Arizona: August is the price you pay for living in Arizona the other 11 months. The temperatures are up, and so is the humidity. As the summer winds down, the grounds crew is preparing for a September start to the annual overseeding program, and our play schedule will be changing. Be sure to keep current with time changes and course closings.

It is my sad duty to report the sudden loss of one of our league members, Larry Hanken. Larry was a good guy and a fun guy to play golf with. He joined the Niners in early 2019 and quickly became an ardent golfer. To Larry’s wife Chloe and all the members of the Hanken family, we extend our deepest condolences on Larry’s passing.
