Seven of our IWLN golfers attended the Shalimar Invitational in Tempe on March 6, 2020. Denise Weibel, Deb Burns, Holly Toms, Barb Frank, Eileen Moberg, Deborah Greenwood, and Betty Farr enjoyed the casual theme of Railroad Hobos. Deb Burns came in third place, and Denise Weigel snagged the award for longest drive. Eileen Moburg and Denise Weigel won baskets, and Deborah Greenwood won a golf towel for placing in the tournament. Fun was had by all!

Another success story occurred at the IWLN Valentine’s Day event on Feb. 12. Accolades to Colleen Duke for a hole-in-one on the par 3, hole 6 at Ironwood! This was poetic justice for Colleen, as this hole had caused problems for her in the past. Hint: The Splash recently posted a picture of her ball behind a bush about 20 feet in front of the tee box, right next to her partner’s tee shot which landed ON the bush. Colleen showed this hole who’s boss!

And yet another success story for one of our Lady Niners… Fran Kelly won a three-day tournament at Ironwood in a come-from-behind victory! Congratulations, Fran!
