It is the countdown for Art at the Lakes – one week away! Many of us are getting our paintings matted and framed, art cards carefully packaged, change drawers ready and vendor tents looking sparkly clean. All of this in anticipation for the seventh annual art show around one of Cottonwood’s beautiful lakes. As a vendors, our hearts pound and we may lose sleep over the excitement and opportunity to share our talents with you.

Please come to the event. Bring some friends. Take in the experience. Look around. Listen to the lively music. Enjoy the lake. Eat a tasty lunch prepared by some of our very own fire fighters. Talk to the artists; we are friendly.

Other happenings for our group this month include “Fresh Eyes” on Friday, March 6 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. On Tuesday, March 10 Janet Myrick will instruct us on the One Stroke painting method. Our monthly general membership meeting is Friday, March 20.

Looking ahead, Mike Milgroom will give instruction on abstract painting on April 14. There’s never a dull moment at Oakwood Artists’ League!
