Oakwood Lady Niners Golf League

Barb Solomonson

Reggie Wegman

Barbara and Gary Solomonson moved to IronOaks 15 years ago from Tacoma, Wash. They chose IronOaks because of the location and amenities. Barb is an avid golfer. She would someday like to visit the White House. She is our go-to person for questions regarding the courses and what to be careful of on the course that day. Barb has checked in the Lady Niners for years. She is efficient and tells it like it is, which is very appreciated by our group. If there is anything we need to know, we can rely on her for quick, correct information.

We would like to thank Barb for all the years she has been behind the desk in the Oakwood Pro Shop. She has taken such good care of us.

Below are some dates to remember for upcoming events. Please post these events to your date books or cell phones.

Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. is the first official game of the season. The game of the day is a Scramble on the Sonoran. It will be cart path only, but usually it is workable with good course management and help from your foursome. Immediately following is our luncheon. This is the event at which we vote in our new board. The candidates are listed below:

President: Karen Graves

Vice President: Sue Boucher

Treasurer: Nancy Hook

Secretary: Chris Berney

Thank you, ladies, for volunteering to keep the oldest organized golf league in IronOaks going strong!

The lunch is a southwest salad buffet. The buffet will include greens, ground beef or chicken, Mexican rice, and tacos with all the accouterments with iced tea and water at the table. There will be a bar, and we may have a Drink of the Day, so bring some cash or a credit card. The cost of the lunch is $22. A check made out to Oakwood Lady Niners should be deposited into our cabinet in an envelope with your name on it. The Pro Shop will be closed officially until Nov. 6. Or you can send it to Rachel Enloe whose address is listed in our league booklet. If you are out of town, please ask a friend to pay for you to get you on the list of attendees.

The next few play days are as follows:

Nov. 14: Low Net Odd Holes on the Lakes

Nov. 21: Palms Low Net Par 4s

Nov. 28: Sonoran Low Net Club Championship and Silver Championship

Start times are 9 a.m. Please be signed in and ready to go at 8:30 a.m. so you can be part of our pre-golf parking lot meeting.
