The Oakwood Nine Hole Couples League had their end of year social!

Black White and Bling was the theme. The event was chaired by Jane Steffes, co-chaired by Judy and Fred Thompson. They did an absolutely fabulous job. The team helped organize a most memorable party. The committee members were: prizes, Yvonne DeMoss and Bruce Nelson; table decorations: Ryan and Pam Visina; games: Jim and Vicki Mendenhall; photo op: Mark and Laurel Stoimenoff, Ed Anderson, and Elaine Rawls; raffle: Nate Ellis and Susie LaSalvi; water: Greg and Janis Gustaffson; putting contest: Fran Moncreiff and Rosanna Nania;, raffle: Susan Schaeffer and Reggie Wegman; printed material: Deborah Greenwood; piano: Joe D’Amore; spinner: Steve and Renee Touchstone; drink special: Reggie Wegman; guest photographer: Rachel Enloe.

After the scramble on the Palms course the league met in the ballroom in Oakwood which was dressed out in Black White and Bling decorations. From the moment the couples walked in they were amazed at the sophisticated atmosphere. Black White and Bling center pieces, the table settings and the atmosphere was stunning. The group was serenaded by no other than Joe D’Amore on the grand piano decked out with silver candelabras. There was glass, silver and beads throughout the ball room. The drink of the day was a white russian in keeping with the theme. It was delicious.

A putting contest was set up for all to try their best to sink a hole in one. The winners of the putting contest were Linda Berg-Carmichael for the ladies and Mitch Green for the guys. The raffle baskets were phenomenal as were the silent auction tables. A great big thank you to all our donors and members who helped make this such a special event. A money raffle was collected and each of the four winners won $290 in cash.

The banquet staff, Kim and Gunnar had everything running like a clock. The servers did a fabulous job serving 135 dinners that were delicious and hot! Kudos to the Blue Star team!
