The Ocotillo Women’s League Community Service had a very successful fashion show given by Chico’s at the April Luncheon at the Ballroom of Bernard’s. Members of the OWLs were our models and Community Service of the group made beautiful gift baskets to raffle to members and their guests. Community Service decided that this spring recipient of the fund raiser would be Neighbors Who Care and Friends for Life Animal Rescue. The fashion show and raffle allowed the club to donate $800 to both organizations. A big thank you to our members and guest at this event for their participation.

Throughout the spring members give generously to the 50/50 at each luncheon meeting with half of the price of the ticket going to our charity and the other amount going to the lucky member. Some of the charities we helped this past year are Mathews Crossing $100, Hamilton High School Homeless $400, Fallen Chandler Police officers $400, Clothes Cabin donations of clothes and supplies and $100, just to name a few. Fall is here and the Community Service is ready to go. The members that were here in the Valley and not at the beach or mountains worked on our new fund raiser for the holidays. The charity for that has not been named but there are great home décor items that will be on sale at the luncheon starting in October.

Community Service meets the first Monday of the month at Bernard’s Board Room (10:00 a.m.) at the Ocotillo Golf Resort and the Owls Luncheon meets the third Monday at the Ballroom at the Resort (11:30 a.m.). If you are interested in attending a meeting go to our website at owlsgroup.org and call one of the board members or directors for more information. Come join us and meet new friends in Sun Lakes and Chandler.
