OLNGA Ladies played the Palms course on March 13. Winners were Flight 1: Cora Levensky and Bonnie Tasch, Joyce Parker and Pat Stead in second and Linda Liberti in third. Flight 2 had a three-way tie with Kathy Chebuhar, Judy Hedding and Mary Evans; Margaret Johns in second and Phyllis Madison and Nan Campbell in third. Flight 3 had Mo Krol in first, followed by Sheila Bossio in second and Janice Kilbreath in third.
Our Oakwood/Cottonwood mixer had over 60 ladies playing the Lakes course on March 20. The game of the day was “throw of the dice,” with different numbers coming up determining which score we recorded. It was a fun event and very nice meeting a lot of Cottonwood ladies. Golf was followed by a lunch, sandwiches, chips, cookies and soda, beer and wine. Congratulations to Margaret Johns and Julie Schneider for all the efforts in putting this event together. Job well done!
Our “foe” for March 27 was the Sonoran course. Many of our players showed up with the “A” game: Flight 1 was led by Erika Tiepel, with Ann Carlson and Shirley Malick in second and Linda Liberti in third. Reggie Wegman led Flight 2, with Suevonne Negaard in second and Lola Bernadelli in third. Flight 3 was led by Suzan Miller, with Mo Krol in second and Annette Carrington in third.
On April 3, we hit the links of the Sonoran early at 7:30 a.m. Weather could not have been better with some low scores recorded. Mary Medved led in Flight 1, following in second by Cora Levensky and Joanne Dunn. Joyce Parker, Linda Liberti and Georgeann Bell came in third. Flight 2 was led by Barbara Stewart, second place was a tie between Tuny O’Rourke and Margaret Johns and Sheila Bossio and Dottie Meade came in third.
We had an 8:00 a.m. tee off on April 10 in order to beat the heat! Name of the game was “silver,” as we all teed off from the silver tees. Flight 1 winners were Kathy Chebuhar in first, followed by Cora Levensky in second and Joyce Parker in third. Flight 2 was led by Joanne Dunn, a tie for second with Helen Semple and Mary Evans, with Tuny O’Rourke and Georgeann Bell in third. Sharon Gale led Flight 3, with Sheila Bossio in second and Rachel Enloe in third.
Tip of the Month: Play your tee shot from between, not in front of, the tee markers. You may, however, play your tee shot from up to two club lengths behind the front line of the tee markers.
