This month’s play for the PVMGA was highlighted by the 2024 John Dobson Memorial Member/Guest Tournament played Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7. The weekend event began with a Friday afternoon practice round for the players to finetune their games. There were several closest-to-the-pin and a circle hole contest, followed by dinner on the Palo Verde patio. It was a fun event of play and camaraderie to size up the competition.

Round 1, Saturday, April 6

Saturday’s play was divided into a different format play for the front 9 and back 9.

Front 9: Two-Person Scramble Net Results: 1st Ken Nelson and Steve Martz (22.5), 2nd (tie) Keith Wilson and Bob Gruber/Tom McLeod and Jim Kay (23.25)

Sunday’s play was also divided into different formats for front 9 and back 9.

Following Sunday’s round, the players and their invited guests enjoyed a buffet luncheon in the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom for the awards presentation and a time to share “stories” of this fun and season highlight event.
