The Sun Lakes Fire Department rallied for one of their own in taking ALS’ Ice Bucket Challenge. Station 232 fire house staff, family and friends came out on September 19 to participate in a group challenge. Sun Lakes Camera Club members were on hand to capture the exciting and very wet event. Guy Reed of Tempe Camera unveils one of Canon’s new printers, the Pixma Pro 10, at our kick-off meeting of the year. Sharing product features, Guy demonstrated the ease of printing at home. Rebates are available on the printer at Tempe Camera for a short time.
A fall photo trip to Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge and White Sands, New Mexico will be December 8, 9 and 10. Join fellow members in capturing some breathtaking sunrises and sunsets at a few pristine landscapes in America. The Out of Africa field trip leaves on November 7. The Arizona Camera Club Council Fall Round Up will be held on Saturday, November 8 in Sun City, Arizona. The event’s featured speaker is Robert O’Toole who will discuss the topics of Macro and Wildlife. Rotating subject is Texture. Registration and check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. Lunch is provided.

Holiday Portraits are back! This year, for three days, the Sun Lakes Camera Club will be offering studio set-up portraits for the Christmas season. Registration is at the Front Desk of the Sun Lakes Country Club (SLCC). A nominal fee of $10 for one (1) 8 x 10 and four (4) 4 x 6 prints. The location is the Mirror Room of the SLCC; and times are as follows: Friday, November 21 – 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22 – Noon-6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 – 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Contact Fred Geise at [email protected] with any questions.
