The Sun Lakes Republican Club will feature “The Future of Arizona Energy and Water,” with speaker Tyler Bowyer, at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. The public is invited. Please bring your friends and neighbors. Our mission is “Education for an Informed Electorate.” Light desserts will be served for your enjoyment.
Tyler Bowyer is a seventh generation Arizonan and is uniquely suited to provide a historic perspective on the state of Arizona’s energy and water resources. He will be discussing the interplay between the jurisdiction of the Arizona Corporation Commission, the Central Arizona Project Water Board, and the upcoming 2026 SRP Board Election, all of which will impact our energy rates and water rates in Sun Lakes for many years in the future. As Sun Lakes homeowners, it is critical that we become informed now to secure the future of our reliable, as well as renewable, energy sources and water rights at the lowest possible rates. Arizona will need an “all of the above” approach to have abundant, reliable energy and to avoid the mistakes that other western states have made. If we learn from the problems created by bad energy policy in other states, such as brownouts and rolling blackouts, we can avoid them here in Arizona.
Bowyer has served as Republican Precinct Committeeman, Congressional Advisory Chairman, Regent, Republican Legislative District Chairman, Republican County Chairman of the largest Republican-held county in America, and Arizona RNC National Committeeman and was a primary organizer and speaker at the first Trump Rally in July of 2015.
Tyler joined Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA in 2015, later becoming Chief Operating Officer overseeing the nation’s largest and most impactful field program, organizing the nation’s largest activist events, and reaching hundreds of millions in digital initiatives. In 2019 he also took on the role of COO of Turning Point Action, the 501(c)(4) organization that operates the nationwide youth effort Students for Trump. Tyler resides in Mesa, Ariz., with his wife Lauren and three kids: Brooks, Nell, and Quincy.
Our District 13 State Representative Julie Willoughby and State Senator J.D. Mesnard will provide their perspectives on our state energy policies and legislation, as well as update us on the work of the current legislature and its potential impact on our legislative district.
