Dannette Hunnel

Sun Lakes resident Dannette Hunnel is the recent recipient of two Honorable Mentions from the 2021 Purple DragonFly Children’s Book Award. The Purple Dragonfly Book Award is a worldwide book competition that was created in 2009 to celebrate the best in children’s books.

Her two books and their categories were:

Getting To Know Huey – Category: Kids Books about Pets

Gage And The Googly-Eyed Guest – Category: Kids Books about Charity/Making a Difference

Dannette’s book Hensley’s Plastic Spoon received an Honorable Mention for Best Juvenile Fiction 2017 from The Best Book Awards.

In 2006 Dannette’s book Shorten The Distance was the recipient of the Best Book Award for Parenting.

Dannette truly enjoys creating stories and art with her six grandchildren in mind. All of her kids books tell of life’s simple joys, and many of her books include a little life lesson and a few health tips. Her books are colorful and written in large print, making them easier to read for young children (and their grandparents).

A retired travel professional, Dannette resides with her husband Gary in Sun Lakes, Palo Verde.

All of Dannette’s books are available at www.Amazon.com or at www.DannetteHunnel.com.
