Roadrunners RV Club

Well-attended rally at Quartzsite

Cathie Smith, Secretary

The days are warm and clear, and the nights are cool and great for stargazing and campfires. “Let’s go here—no, let’s go there,” is heard at our monthly meetings. So, let’s do just that and get outside and have some fun with the Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club.

Our annual rally was once again in Quartzsite, Ariz. If you’ve never been to Quartzsite, it’s a trip in itself. The small town of Quartzsite swells from a tiny population of a few thousand to over a quarter million people as RVers come from all over to enjoy warm weather and RV fun. There is a tremendous amount of boondock camping in the desert and quite a few RV parks in the area. We were lucky to get spots next to each other at Rice Ranch RV Park, within walking distance of all the action. Our days were filled with fun, going to see all the exhibits and vendors from RV items to rocks, jewelry, and just stuff. Our nights were filled with tales of the day, great food, dominoes, campfires, and just-right toasted marshmallows.

We would love to see potential members and visitors at our regular club meeting on March 9. The Sun Lakes RV Club meets the second Tuesday of each month starting in October, then November, and January through May. Meetings take place in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club, with social time starting at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. For more information about the club and its activities, go to www.sunlakesroadrunner.com.

The Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club is all about fun travel, new adventures, good food, and great friends! The group enjoys many opportunities to see new sights, go on organized tours or explore on your own, dine out or cook at the campsite, and make many new friends.

Prospective members and visitors are always welcome. Come join the fun on Tuesday, March 9.
