Roadrunners RV Club plans a busy year

Pat Prekel, Secretary

The Sun Lakes Road Runners RV Club is off to a good start this season. In November, the club had the welcome back meeting where everyone enjoyed catching up on each other’s summer travels and then got down to the serious business of planning the rallies for 2018. It looks like it is going to be an exciting year with rallies planned to Quartzsite in January; Tucson/Tubac for the art fair in February; Camp Verde in March; Canyon de Chelly in April; an exit rally to Ruidoso, NM, in May; our return rally to the balloon festival in Albuquerque, NM, in October and Eloy in November where some of our members will be skydiving.

In December, 2017, the members celebrated the holidays at our Christmas Dinner Dance where we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Palo Verde followed by dancing to the sounds of Thaddeus Rose. Everyone was dressed in their holiday best and, boy, can some of our members dance!

The Roadrunners also enjoy local social events such as a pizza party in January, meeting in groups at various restaurants throughout the season and our annual Spring Fling picnic at Sisk Park.

We are always open to new members who enjoy the RV lifestyle. The club meets the second Tuesday of every month through May. Our next meeting will be January 9 in the Navajo room, Sun Lakes Country Club, with refreshments starting at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. Come check out what we have in store for the upcoming year.
