Lucky Strikes by Linda Davis

Come join your fellow photographers for a day filled with beautiful imagery. On Saturday, March 14 the Sun Lakes Camera Club will host the Arizona Camera Club Council’s Spring Round Up 2015. The Sun Lakes Country Club will transform into a gallery of photographs and offer two photographic workshops by Beth Ruggiero-York on Night Landscapes and Night Scenes. The Rotating theme this Spring is Pencils. Lunch is provided with registration. Visit the ACCC website at http://www.arizonacameraclubcouncil.org/ to register.

Club members – here’s your chance to show your stuff. Having entered your image submissions, now’s the time to share your brawn. The event requires a lot of set-up prior to Saturday’s showing. If you have not signed up for a specific duty, please contact John Livoti, Club President, who can tell you where we could use your assistance.

ACCC Spring Round Up 2015 committee members, keep in contact with John Livoti at 480-895-6880 for final details on the event and updates on delegated duties.

Our Splash spotlight image of the month is by veteran member Linda Davis. In the Special Techniques – Digital category, Linda received high recognition for her image Lucky Strikes. Linda’s image shows her applied vintage techniques brilliantly; turning a modern day image into a memory from the past. Subject matter enhances this technique making it appear flawless.

The scavenger hunt has begun. Team leaders – hopefully you’ve be in touch with your group members. If you need to get in touch with a group member or are having trouble getting a hold of one, please contact Jan Williams for a current membership list. Submission of final selection of the eleven items by teams will be the end of March. Watch your e-mail for details.

Our recent nice weather has made it easy to get out and shoot. Due to all the rain we received this past fall, the wildflowers are soon to be blooming. Watch your calendars to get out to shoot in your favorite spot and refer to your trusty wildflower guidebook for this year’s best locations.

The club’s spring trip will soon be upon us. Destination, Joshua Tree National Park here we come; April 6, 7 and 8. Contact Janet at [email protected]; or Karen at [email protected] for details, itinerary, updates and time of departure.
