Sew-N-Sews news

Hope you were able to attend our October meeting. Six ladies displayed and discussed the purses they made. Classes were offered to members to make their own custom purse.

Our November meeting will be a representative from Calico Corners sharing information on quick decorating changes with pillows and table covers. You don’t want to miss it. With the holidays coming, a few changes in décor and you’re ready for the next holiday.

We have a new SIG (Special Interest Group): Walker Bags. We have kits available for the walker bags. The completed bags will be donated to the V.A. Hospital in Phoenix. Or you can reduce your stash by using your own fabric. We use Velcro for attaching the bags, and that is supplied by the Sew-N-Sews. They are quick and easy to make. Pick up a kit at a future meeting. And don’t forget about another SIG: the Embroidery SIG. We share ideas and challenges (problems). Oftentimes, someone in the group has had the same experience and shares her solution (or frustration!). Of course, there is Show & Tell of their creative work. Reminder: The SIGs are for members, which is another reason to join the Sew-N-Sews.

Come to a meeting to see what we are all about. Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. If you join between now and the end of 2018, the dues will cover your 2019 membership.

If you want more information about the Sew-N-Sews, please call our president, Phyllis Prysock, at 480-339-0297. She will be able to answer your questions.
