Sew-n-Sews return

Phyllis Prysock

Sew-N-Sews is looking forward to resuming our monthly meetings on September 11, 2019, and getting back to the business of comradery, learning, sharing, and fun! We will have all-new treasures on the stash table, new door prizes for wearing your Sew-N-Sews name badge, classes to sign up for, and Special Interest Groups to get involved with, including Pads4Paws, Dolly Dressers, Walker Bags for the VA, Beading, Love of Featherweights, and Embroidery.

Our program in September will be presented by Kathy Reynolds, owner of A Quilter’s Oasis quilt shop in East Mesa. Kathy left her 25-year career as a pediatric RN to open A Quilter’s Oasis 14 years ago. The shop was opened in East Mesa to meet the community need for a quilt shop in that area. Kathy has sewn since the age of eight. In 1984, she took her first quilting class and just loved the art and creativity of quilting. Kathy’s passion is to share her experience and knowledge for quilting with others in a friendly and fun atmosphere, and to give to the community through charity sew days for Ryan’s Case for Smiles, Arizona Blankets 4 Kids, Project Linus, and Quilts of Valor.

Sew-N-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Our business meeting starts at 1:00 p.m., and we invite you to come a little early to meet other members and renew friendships after the long, hot summer! Not a member yet? Join us as a guest. New member fee is $25 which includes the first-year membership and a Sew-N-Sews name badge. We hope to see you there on Wednesday, September 11.
