Singing with a smile

Sun Lakes is home to Diana Perez where she loves to share her talent of singing and playing the keyboard. She is looking forward to another great season with songs from the ‘40s to the ‘70s. Her infectious smile and obvious love of music bring a smile to every crowd. With the heat tapering off and the “snowbirds” headed this way, she has some new “sets” that will have you tapping your toes and singing along.

The Perfect Place is a wonderful adult daycare facility where they also enjoy Diana as she donates her time to them each month. Don’t hesitate to stop in, check out the facility, and see the joy she brings to all these folks.

She also plays at Renaissance Assisted Living Facility here on Riggs Road. I have been there to see the crowd she draws, and it warms my heart to see these people sing along and reminisce with the songs she knows they love.

Dale Garcia, her partner on keyboard, joins her at the Gilbert Senior Center and the Cuisine and Wine Bistro (which is across from Safeway in the strip mall on Alma School Road). They really kick it up and have a good time which is fun to see. I have been there, too, and am definitely going back!

Diana has a trio group now which includes Maurice Cole on keyboard, Buddy Apel on bass, and Diana on vocals. Maurice has played for many “stars,” so he’s a legend in the music business. He’s played for Olivia Newton-John, Waylon Jennings, and more.

Diana certainly plays to her audience and even takes requests now and then. If you have not seen her yet, do yourself a favor and go enjoy a couple of hours of some great music. You can’t miss her with that “perfect” blond hair and infectious enthusiasm.

Diana’s Trio is thrilled to add the Palo Verde Country Club to her repertoire starting in January. This one I can’t wait to hear.
